Citra 77 LUPOMAX
Citra 77 is a blend of chemicals specially formulated to clean, remove rust, and passivate stainless steel products. It is available in trigger sprayer bottles for on-site passivation of large items and is also available in a thick gel version that clings well to vertical surfaces. Citra77 is a low foaming formula and is designed to be used with stainless steel polishes. The product can be used with any grade of stainless steel, including the more sensitive 400 series ferritic and martensitic grades.
It is safe to use in a confined area with proper ventilation, but should be tested on any metal surface prior to full application. Always test the product on a small area to determine its compatibility with the surface it is being applied to. If it is not compatible, it may cause etching or corrosion.
When passivating with CitriSurf, the iron ions are stripped from the surface of the stainless steel, leaving it free of contaminants such as dirt and corrosion. The citric acid in the bath forms a water soluble complex with these ions, making them non reactive and unable to cause corrosion. CitriSurf is also a safer alternative to nitric acid passivation solutions, as it does not pose the same safety hazards.
Citra LUPOMAX has quickly become popular amongst hop breeders and brewers alike for its ability to contribute delectable citrus and tropical fruit characteristics to beer. In a blind evaluation of a Pale Ale made with this variety, the majority of tasters rated the pungency of this hop as moderate to strong. They also noted flavors of orange, pineapple, and mango in the beer. Other descriptors rated highly include floral, tropical, and citrusy. Onion/garlic and earthy/woody were rated lower.
