Volvo Key Fob Troubleshooting

Volvo drivers appreciate their key fob's handy remote that comes with features. They can lock and unlock their car and start the engine, and even locate it via the smartphone app.

Put the key fob face up on an uncluttered surface. Locate the button that lets you release it, then wedge a coin between the fob and the cover and pull it up slowly.

Locking the Door

Volvo's remote keyfobs allow you to unlock your vehicle's doors, tailgate, and flap for filling up with fuel at the press of one button. Set out your keys, batteries, and extra keys on a clean surface. Find the small black button on the bottom left corner on the key fob. move it to the right. The cover will begin to loosen and fall off leaving the key's mechanical blade underneath.

You can open all the doors as well as the rear gate by pressing the unlock button on the key fob two times. The lock button also closes the windows and sunroof (if fitted) by pressing it for 2 seconds. Reconnect the battery, and the alarm will stop. If it doesn't, then the owner's manual should have a way to reset the alarm.
