AutoHotkey

AutoHotkey is a free, open source macro and automation software often referred as "mapping software". Gamers using this program to assign game commands to joystick buttons (by converting joystick button presses into keyboard key presses).
It can also be used as an alternative for the mapping software which comes with the hardware or if hardware does not contain any mapping software at all.
AutoHotkey's UI
AutoHotkey doesn't have an advanced GUI. The main AutoHotkey window screen is printing debugging information. The scripts are made with Notepad. AutoHotkey is nested in the system tray as well, which allows the user for quick access.Tutorial
