The Apache TSD page is a very powerful page for both navigation and targeting. You can switch between showing just navigation, just targeting or both with D.

!! TSD underlays

The TSD symbology can be overlaid three different underlays. The default is none. But other options are a map, or image from the TADS camera. Switch between the different underlays by pressing SHIFT+D. The map has several modes you can switch between with CTRL+D, and several colour palettes you can switch between with ALT+D.

!! Priority Fire Zones(PFZ) and No Fire Zones(NFZ)

PFZs is a way to quickly select all targets in an area, while NFZs is a way to make sure you never target certain areas. PFZ used in combination with the radar guided Hellfires is an extremly powerful combination, allowing a Longbow Apache to rapidly destroy up to 16 targets. NFZs are useful if you know the position of friendly, neutral or civilians to make sure they are not targeted.

Note that PFZs and NFZs only affect the radar, and only in ground radar mode. All targets can still be selected regardless of PFZ/NFZ status with TADS, helmet mounted sight or air radar.

! Creating/deleting PFZs/NFZs

You create a PFZ by draging with the left mouse button in the TSD around the area you want to create a PFZ of. To create an NFZ you do the same, but use the right mouse button when dragging.

You can have a maximum of 16 PFZs and 4 NFZs. If you create more the oldest will be deleted. You can also manually delete the current PFZ by pressing CTRL + KEYPAD3. There is currently no way of manually deleting NFZs.

! The selected PFZ

When a PFZ is created it will become the selected PFZ. You can switch between PFZ with KEYPAD, and SHIFT + KEYPAD, . And you can deselect the PFZ by pressing CTRL + KEYPAD, (in which case no PFZ will be selected). The currently selected PFZ will be highlighted on the TSD with a brighter colour, and in the upper left corner the selected PFZ number will be shown after FCR when ground radar is the active targeting system (like e.g. "FCR/PF3" if the third PFZ is the selected).

When you do have a selected PFZ (and are in ground radar mode) you will ONLY be able to select targets from inside the PFZ (you can also use the high/medium/low radar threat levels to limit further which targets are selected). When used with the radar Hellfire, each time you fire one missile the next target in the PFZ will automaticly be selected. This allows you to very quickly engage all targets in a PFZ; just create the PFZ, and keep firing missiles one by one until all targets have been fired upon. For extra lethality first do a quick scan with rader, then pop behind cover, create the PFZ and fire the Hellfires in LOAL mode from cover. In LOAL mode the Hellfire is able to climb 1000ft obstacles provided the peak is at least 1500 meters away.

You can also see that the column of vehicles in PF1 are moving by the dark dot in the centre of the target symbol (not to be confused with the no line-of-sight symbol which is completly hollow). The green circle with four lines sticking out is the mouse pointer used for making PFZs and NFZs._

! Ordering wingmen to attack PFZs

When both you and your wingman is flying Apache Longbows and you have an active PFZ you can order your wingman to attack the selected PFZ. The PFZ with all targets you have discovered in it will be transfered to the wingman. If he is weapons free he will immediately start attacking the targets in the PFZ. Otherwise he will wait until getting a weapons free order before starting attacking the targets.

With human wingmen you can also transfer PFZs to the wingmen. The wingmen will then get the PFZ drawn on their TSD including the targets inside it, even if they haven't discovered the targets themselves yet.

If you have several wingmen a usuful tactic is to divide the target area into one PFZ per Apache in the flight. Then assign one PFZ to each wingman while still weapons hold (including keeping one PFZ for yourself). When you then do weapons free the entire flight will attack their designated targets.
