Tokek Win, the debut feature from Indonesian director Edwin Suharto, is a satire of society’s obsession with virility. Its absurdities include a tank of phallic sea mollusks, a gift card that reads, “Sometimes touch can say what words never can,” and Ajo’s squinting through the shutter slats of a neighbor’s house like Jeffrey Beaumont in Blue Velvet. Even as Ajo finds release in music, however, he can’t shake his shackles of male aggression.

tokek win is a Dutch designer and artist, who works with a stamp method which directly applies patterns, images and text to fabric. She creates hand-printed fabrics and objects in a range of natural fibres.
